Our Staff

Office Staff

Our dedicated, long-term office staff assists patients with scheduling, insurance, and payment information, and is an important aspect of our service team. Our team approach creates a friendly atmosphere for each patient and each staff member.

Barb Kirchner, Owner/Manager

Barbara was born and raised in San Antonio. A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and The University of Texas in Austin, she was a teacher and taught kindergarten for several years before learning the profession to help open MK Prosthetic & Orthotic Services with her husband Mark. Barbara has been supervising the daily office administration since its inception in 2001.

Don Kirchner, Practice Manager

Don officially joined Mark and Barb at MK in 2005, but assisted his brother and sister-in-law in launching the lab and offices when the firm was founded in 2001 and when they moved in 2004. Before formally joining the MK team, Don worked as a customer service and technical representative for a global HVAC manufacturer covering south central Texas region. His expertise lies in customer service, thermodynamics, electronics, material management, accounting and human resources.

Ernest Garza, Director of Business Development

Andrea MK patient coordinator since 2005 and in the industry since 2000. Andrea works at our Stone Oak/Proton office.	Anna MK patient coordinator since 2004 and in the industry since 1998. Anna works our front desk specializing on patient intake and hospital calls.
Brenda MK patient coordinator since 2007 and in the industry since 2001. Brenda does most of our scheduling.	Chadney MK patient coordinator since 2008 and works our checkout desk.
Eva MK patient coordinator since 2004 and works our front desk.	Kimberly MK Billing Specialist since 2006 and in the industry since 1987. Kimberly is our billing/appeals specialist.
Erica MK patient coordinator since 2009 and in the industry since 1999.	Samantha MK patient coordinator since 2008 and in the industry since 2006. Samantha works at our Stone Oak/Proton office.
